, democrat harry reid, is roughly approximated by the sound of one hand clapping, which i can do it like that. yeah. even back in 2009, only a third of voters surveyed in the state of nevada told pollsters that they would re-elect him. by january of this year, harry reid's unfavorability rating was over 50%. meanwhile, for the first half of this year, three republicans duked it out for the chance to run against harry reid. it seem eed like the prize in tt primary wasn't just the republican nomination, but the near-guarantee that the winner would be the next senator from the great state of nevada. because no offense to ham sandwiches, a ham sandwich could have beaten harry reid at that point. harry reid's numbers were so bad in nevada that even months before the primary, when sharron angle, the one on the left there, had zero name recognition, with more than 40% of the voters, sharron angle was still polling better than harry reid. sharron angle, of course, went on to win the primary, thank you for chickens for checkups, and by the time the primary happened in june, sharron angle had a double-

it is christine o'donnell or sharron angle. don't win because people like you, don't ask people to like harry reid or chris coons, who will be on the show in a minute, see whether people like him or not, just say how terrible the other person is and you can't afford to let him in there. that is no way to build a spirited political movement, it seems to me. your thoughts. well, it's not, but when things are unpopular, not the first time we have seen that's how candidates survive, whether it was chuck robb making sure everybody had a certain view of ollie north back in 1994 or what we are seeing harry reid do to sharron angle. at this point, you know, the voters in the middle are so upset, they are not listening to positive argument now, they are only listening to a negative argument. the question i have is you see how this can benefit the republicans short term, with enthusiasm with getting people fired up. how does this benefit long term? where does this leave the senate? if this stoun if the senate becomes -- be this town becomes a town that is even more gridlocked than it is now, and then the re
